Roof, Part 2

 

Tuesday's progress.

Picture above:  Dining room roof framed.  It made such a difference!  Also, front porch roof and dining room shed dormer. 

 

Picture above:  Stairs!!  This is the very first time my babies ever climbed them.  Can you imagine how many more times they will in their lifetime.  Jack was beyond delighted and I think we were finally able to put the trauma behind him.

Becca and Justin, thanks for coming yesterday and making me feel like the house might just turn out all right!  And for eating that curry pasta salad.  And especially for the dent you made in my pesky chocolate stash, we don't need all that around here anyway.  Come to think about it, did that have something to do with the pasta salad?

Picture above:  Ava made it up the ladder to see her "room" for the very first time.  I wasn't able to help Jack up safely.  Poor thing. He was sure to punish me sufficiently.  (Picture #2 was the lowest blow.)

Valentine the Moose

 

Ava doodled this today during a mad card making spree.  Kid's drawings are one of the biggest perks of being a parent and with Ava I am spoiled rotten.  I am pretty sure she is a genius.  Now and then she says she wants to be a cartoonist when she grows up and I say that would be a pretty sweet life.

Here you are, exactly six years old.

I couldn't love you more. 

You were so excited to finally get a go at the Birthday Interview we began with Jack last December.

Gosh, you were so sweet sitting on that rock having your picture taken.  Dad couldn't help but notice, too,  so over he came and the usual shenanigans ensued.   

He said he would like to pick his sweetie a flower.

But, BIG SURPRISE, he used it to tickle your nose, brush your teeth,

and beat you about the head.  Which you loved.

Then he swung you around and for the dreaded birthday whooping.

But in the end you forgave him.  Because we always do, don't we.

I think you need to try being less cute.  He just can't help himself.  And I can't blame him.
